The state of the economy from the eye of the everyday Joe.

To say that I “am not worried or bothered” would be the greatest understatement of the last 2 decades. Continuous increase in house repossession, failing banks, rise in; unemployment, food prices, energy and utility bills, has left a lot of people constantly wondering, where and when did it go wrong? More so, the impact of the economy today on the simple, “everyday” Joe. I look around me and cannot see what measure can be put in place to fix this problem. I suppose that is why I’m not in government.

The “everyday” Joe on average is more concerned with how he would survive from the minute he wakes up till he makes it back to his or her bed for what he or she hopes is a good night’s sleep. Unfortunately with the way things are, I really doubt that this can be guaranteed. Even the very rich are feeling the pinch, obviously this being relative.

An interesting new bit, which has been aired on the BBC and ITV, was that, one of the ways to help counter a recession or help the economy was high street spending. Interesting to say the least as, if we, the everyday Joes are expected to spend, how can with rises in taxes and the current rate of inflation, couple with other economic hardships being faced today such as house repossession.

It looks like an endless circle of suggestions not being weighed properly and being implemented and the knock back from its implementation, resulting in more ridiculous suggestions being made. Some one has to stand up and take control of the situation before it really gets out of hand as the people who would be affected the most, would be, your everyday Joe, you and I.

OPR or Estelle?

I took a big risk on Sunday but was it worth it?........................

It all started with my brother supposed to be DJing at Estelle/Laura Izibor concert in Dublin, knowing I had a very 'crucial' test on Monday, I decided to tag along, afterall the test can't be that hard, but I had to give up my Saturday to read for this test, by Saturday evening I felt confident enough to go...................

On Sunday after running late(as usual) we arrived at the button factory all geared up, but my brother ending up not doing anything, because whoever set up the deck screwed it up. At first this was really annoying but we had some meetings & dinner lined up which was good, as well as having a good time at the concert.

After dancing for like 2hrs, but it felt like 3ominutes, and a chat with Estelle & Warner music, we all headed of to Odessa club, where a lovely and cozy room was waiting for us, and of course dinner......................

So yes it was worth it, and the test wasnot so bad afterall.

Welcome to the world.........................

BABY GIRAFFE BORN AT DUBLIN ZOO
A baby giraffe has been born at the Dublin zoo, the first in over a decade.
Proud dad robin, aged eight, and mum Jenny, aged eleven, introduced their new arrival to the media yesterday(23.11.08). The baby giraffe was born three weeks ago but the zoo staff wanted to give him time to bond with his mother before allowing the press access to him.
He is said to be thriving after settling into life at the zoo and is already showing signs of independence.
Team leader in the 'African Plains' section of the zoo, Helen Clarke, said both mother and calf were doing well. 'Jenny is doing a very good job and despite the fact that she is a first time mother, she knows what she's doing. The only thing is that he is a little independent and will wander away from her. She has to keep on the ball.'
Leo Oosterweghel, Director of dublin zoo, said the zoo was delighted with the new arrival to the now five-strong giraffe herd.
Baby giraffes are about six feet tall when they are born and then grow about an inch every day. They double their height in one year. Giraffes have very big appetites, eating an average of 63kg of leaf twigs everyday. They have adaptable joints at the top of their necks, which allows them to stretch their heads upwards for food.
Dublin zoo plans to hold a competition to decide a name for the new addition. Details will be announced in the coming weeks.
Over 900,000 people visited Dublin zoo last year, the highest number in its 178-year history.
Further information about the baby giraffe and the Dublin zoo in general can be obtained from www.dublinzoo.ie

Realest & Coolest use of Computer

wikipedia msn google yahoo

What would you say is the coolest thing since the invention of the computer?

For me its search engines and social networking sites. Sometimes I wonder how we used to conduct research before the advent of search engines, I don't even want to think about it.
But really they've been such great help, the amount of information, of any topic, you can get on the internet is astounding and the search engines make this easier, you don't have to know the name of a website to get information, just go to any of the search engine sites, type in your key phrases and behold you are served with a variety of other sites.

Most have the advanced search facility, that helps you break down the list of sites you are given. Its like having to sit in bed with a huge platter of food brought to you for you to pick from, tell me what can beat that..........the food is ready, just point and its yours to eat.
Any wonder why the older generation don't like us much..........................

Oh Why, Oh Why!

sheesh
I've been asked to blog about the 'forbidden' topic- Online/digital sex industry.

What in God's name am I supposed to write about? I was really speechless when i found out this, its not me at all and having to find the time to write on a topic I don't feel comfortable with and know nothing about is not my idea of fun.........................

Why am I ranting about 'forbidden' & 'not comfortable'? Well it goes like this, I come from a country with culture that unofficially frowns on public talk on sex(online or real), especially from females. Writing about this feels like am breaking an unofficial law or something. This might sound crude or archaic but that's how I've been brought up. Its not like someone is watching or going to arrest me or anything extreme like that, but its all about what you have been used to and made to believe, its all inside my head.......................................I can't even explain my dilemma coherently, sighs.

Now to the topic itself, online sex industry I have been made to believe, based on research, is really huge. It makes it easier for anyone with interest to watch Porn in the comfort of their homes at anytime they please. I think its disgusting.
So yes as you can see I know little or nothing about this topic, and I think I have contrevened the 'unofficial' sex laws of my culture enough. Here is where I drop my pen, sorry I meant log off.

Nightmare on football field............

David NorrisI came across this news story on Monday(10th November, 2008) and thought it was worth writing about.

The main gist of the story is that an Ipswich player( David Norris) made a 'handcuff' celebration after scoring a goal, supposedly as a tribute to his friend former Plymouth Argyle Goal keeper, Luke McCoimick, who was jailed for killing two kids due to drunk duving.

Now to my thoughts, the people who made this allegations are the parents of the victims, my heart really goes out to them because they are living in constant heartache after losing two kids on the same night due to someone else's irresponsibility, but what i don't understand is how do you define 'handcuff celebration'?, how do you link it with the accident? and how did they see this 'celebration'? were they watching the match or did they stumble upon it?

The incident is being investigated but David Norris has written an apology letter to the fmily of the deceased and his apology has been accepted, according to the mother of the deceased: '...it shows he has a heart...' They don't want him to be banned but just for him to realise his mistake, which he has, but in the long run their opinion wouldn't count because depending on what vedict is reached David faces a ban................

Is this all a joke gone bad or misunderstanding mixed with raw emotions? Well you be the judge.

YES WE CAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Obama Finally the United States of America's presidential election has come and gone, and as history has been made, the first Black-American president................Barack Obama has been elected.

After about 21 months of campaigning and all sorts, the 'real' journey is about to start.

All this we have all been hearing for the past couple of hours, but what is really cracking me up is the rate at which people around the world, but most especially black folks, are linking themselves in one way or another to Barack, looking for ties that don't exist.

My friends' profile status on Facebook read all sorts, with things like 'obaming up......', 'whom God has blessed no man can curse Obama has made history, it is time for mObama shoese to achieve my dreams.', '...congrats Cousin Barack...we knew u'd do us proud'.

A medical intern friend of mine, in the United States, is actually excited because she heard they would be getting monthly stipend and as she put 'since our own is now President... Can't wait! LOL'.
All in all the mood is of excitement, suprise and in some cases uncertainty of what is to come, but what is evident here is that no matter who you are or what you believe in, you can achieve what you want to achieve.YES WE CAN!!!!!!!!!

Dan Brown, A Genius.

D GeniusI am more of a Romantic novels reader, three people broke that jinx, Frank McCourt, Jeffrey Archer & best of all Dan Brown.

I have become an addict to Dan Brown books, the first i read was Da vinci code, which became a huge success despite critics and was later made into a film. When the film was out someone actually convinced me, or should i say confused me, that it did not have any relationship wit the book, i thought to myself 'there's no point in watching it if there's no realtionship', so for a year after its release i didnot see it, but then i couldnot get away from it for long as i ended up seeing the film not once but three times.

The next of his books i read was Deception Point, followed by Digital Fotress, and then Angels and Demons. Funny i read them in descending order, the first last & the last first.

Most people, especially the Catholics, would wonder why people would read books like that, with two of his books creating a 'mystery' about the christain faith with special concentration on the catholic faith. But wat i've found out is that he writes using facts, reality and a bit of fiction. Facts that majority of us donot want to accept but nevertheless they are there.

Digital Fotress & Deception Point, for example center arround the 'American Deception' so to speak, about the NASA and their 'Findings'.

Illuminati sign After reading his books it made me realise that a lot of things we see or are made to think might not really be what they are, and the Cryptology in his books give me the Creeps, nice rhyme.

Am eagerly waiting for his next book, The Solomon Key, which was due in 2007 but was moved to early this year, and is still not out.............. As for the critics, am not going to stop reading his books cos i have learnt a lot from it, things i never gave a thought before.

Life!

Life is so full of stuffs, you can't help but wonder, and if you're someone like me you worry about everything.
Initially it was, how do i fit in into a whole new system, society, bla bla bla. Three months after its how do i get the best of myself, not to disappoint everyone, and still be me..........................tough one isn't it, oh well but i guess it means you never can understand some things, just go with the flow.......... and like someone once said 'Life's a Bitch, and depending on how you treat her, you just might get rich'.

Awww!

Am not sure how am going to cope in the next 3weeks, cos its going to be really hard & stressful. Moving from one location to another is really not the best times for me.......sigh.....................anyways we'll see how it goes.
Today seems like a pleasant day, am hoping it stays that way, even if its just to lift my mood.
